In the field of mechanical transmission and manufacturing, bearings are indispensable and key components, used to support rotating parts and reduce friction. Among them, Deep Groove Ball Bearing and angular contact ball bearing are two common bearing types, each with unique characteristics and applicable scenarios.
Basic structure and function: Deep Groove Ball Bearing and angular contact ball bearings are composed of basic components such as inner rings, outer rings, steel balls, and cages. They all play a role in supporting rotating parts and reducing friction.
Rolling elements: Both use steel balls as rolling elements, which transmit force and motion by rolling between the inner and outer rings.
Bearing capacity: They all have a certain bearing capacity and can withstand radial load and part of axial load.
Contact angle: This is one of the most significant differences between the two bearings. The contact point between the steel ball of the angular contact ball bearing and the inner and outer rings forms an angle, which is usually 15°, 25°, 30° or 40°, allowing the bearing to withstand large axial loads. The contact angle of Deep Groove Ball Bearing is 0° and is mainly used to withstand radial loads.
Axial displacement: Angular contact ball bearings allow a certain amount of axial displacement, which makes them very useful when it is necessary to adjust the axial position or compensate for axial errors. In contrast, Deep Groove Ball Bearing has limited axial displacement capabilities.
Application scenarios: Due to the above differences, the application scenarios of the two bearings are also different. Deep Groove Ball Bearing is usually used in applications that do not require high axial displacement, such as motors, generators, internal combustion engines, etc. Angular contact ball bearings are more suitable for occasions that need to bear larger axial loads or need to adjust the axial position, such as machine tool spindles, automobile steering gears, etc.
Precision and rigidity: Due to the existence of contact angle, angular contact ball bearings have high precision and rigidity, and are suitable for occasions that require high precision and high rigidity. The accuracy and rigidity of Deep Groove Ball Bearing are relatively low, but the cost is also low, and it is suitable for occasions where precision and rigidity are not required.
Lubrication and Maintenance: There are also differences in lubrication and maintenance between the two types of bearings. Deep Groove Ball Bearing usually uses grease lubrication or oil bath lubrication, and maintenance is relatively simple. Since angular contact ball bearings need to bear large axial loads and high rotational speeds, they usually use oil spray lubrication or oil mist lubrication, which places higher requirements on the lubrication system.
Deep Groove Ball Bearing and angular contact ball bearings have differences in structure, function, application scenarios, accuracy, rigidity and lubrication maintenance. When selecting bearings, the appropriate bearing type should be selected based on specific usage requirements and working conditions to ensure the normal operation of mechanical equipment and extend its service life.
